Paper Abstract:      This paper examines the effects of laptops on science teachers’ pedagogical roles in science laboratories measured in terms of student and teacher centredness. A sample of 209 science teachers participated in this study where 124 teachers were granted laptops. The result of the study suggested that laptop ownership does not affect the pedagogical roles of science teachers. This study also found that teachers with and without laptops perceived that computer technology was useful but those with laptops exhibited greater use of computer technology in the science laboratory learning environment.
